Eight Races, Eight Dates, Eight Chances to Challenge Friends or Foes in this Lift-Accessed, Gravity-Fueled, Unsanctioned Downhill Mountain Bike Series! The Marquette Mountain Resort is hosting the 2023 Gravity Series, a downhill mountain bike series consisting of eight races throughout the season. The races will take place on Sunday afternoons and Friday evenings every other week, providing riders with multiple opportunities to challenge themselves and others. The series is lift-accessed, allowing riders to easily access the trails. It is a gravity-fueled, unsanctioned event, meaning it provides an informal and exciting atmosphere for participants. Each race follows a single run format on a rotating trail throughout the season. The results of each race will be tracked, and overall champions will be crowned for each class at the final race. Participants can have up to five results counted towards their overall score, and the best five results will be taken into consideration if they race more. There are four classes available for riders: Men, Women, Youth (age 11-16), and Grom (age 10 and under). The top finisher in each class will receive prizes. To participate, racers will need a valid day or season pass in addition to the race entry fee. It is mandatory for all riders to wear full face helmets for safety purposes. After the races, riders can enjoy delicious food and refreshing beverages while sharing their experiences and stories of triumph or near misses.
