Experience an Unforgettable Fusion of Art and Sport at the Marquette Mountain Disc Golf Launch Party!

Get ready to embark on a unique adventure where creativity meets fun at the highly anticipated Disc Golf Launch Party, taking place on June 10. Combining the excitement of putt putt and the beauty of art sculptures, this event promises an extraordinary experience for all attendees.

Hosted by Marquette Mountain Resort, the Disc Golf Launch Party aims to bring together enthusiasts from all walks of life to celebrate the intersection of art, sport and fun. The event will be held at Marquette Mountain, the area’s year-round outdoor recreation resort renowned for its scenic beauty and family friendly atmosphere, to celebrate the installation of this first-of-a-kind disc golf course.

Highlights of the Disc Golf Launch Party include:

1. Scrap Metal Art Sculpture Holes: Immerse yourself in a world of artistic expression as you navigate the unique art sculptures creatively designed to serve as disc golf holes. Each hole promises to be a fun and challenging blending of creativity and functionality in a joy inducing manner.
2. Putt Putt Disc Golf: Prepare to test your disc golf skills in a thrilling putt putt format. Our first season of disc golf will feature a putting course across the base of the resort. Whether you’re a seasoned player or new to the sport, this accessible and inclusive format guarantees an enjoyable experience for all participants and focuses on families of all ages and abilities playing together.
3. Meet the Artist: Stacy Hines, the artist and metal worker behind the amazing sculptures will be with us for part of the day. Stacy is a native of Michigan and a mechanical engineer by trade. 4. Live Entertainment: Enjoy music by Noah Bauer from 4-6pm at the Tbar. Noah is a singer/songwriter from the Upper Peninsula that has an insatiable drive to grow as eclectic of a repertoire as is humanly possible. He has an unpredictably diverse song bank to pull from, he’ll try to make you feel something. Noah will take your heart and wrap it in warmth and you will feel good.
5. Food and Beverages: The Tbar will be open and serving food and beverages from Noon-8pm. Come try our new refreshing Summer Menu! We will also be grilling outside. Quench your thirst with our famous Bloody Mary, one of our local brews on tap, or try our new Margaritas.
6. Summer Season Passes: The Mountain Shop will be open from Noon-4pm for summer season pass sales and pick-up for the Downhill Bike Park. New MMR retail items will also be available including our new Carhart logo gear.

It’s a celebration of creativity, sport, family, and community, and we can’t wait to share this unforgettable experience with everyone.” “These sculptures were created by Stacy Hines and the original 5 were featured in ArtPrize in Grand Rapids last summer. Once Marquette Mountain’s owner, Eric Jorgensen, saw them he knew they belonged here. He immediately commissioned four more holes and gifted all 9 to the mountain so that we have a 9-hole course.” Plans for another nine are in the works as well as subsequent phases that will install the holes around the mountain in a full course design, according to Johnson.
