The Marquette Mountain Cheese Roll event sponsored by The Cheese Cave at Everyday Wines is based on a unique tradition where participants race downhill, chasing after a rolling wheel of cheese, aiming to be the first across the finish line to claim victory. This event, originating from England and now popular worldwide, promises an exciting day for both participants and spectators alike.

Key Features of the Marquette Mountain Cheese Roll Event:

  1. Categories: Participants are divided into Men and Women’s categories.
  2. Mass Start: Each category starts the race simultaneously from a designated starting point. As soon as the cheese is rolled downhill, the race is on!
  3. Competition: Racers dash downhill, navigating the terrain and competing fiercely to reach the finish line ahead of their rivals. The first person from each category to cross the finish line wins the cheese for their respective group.
  4. Fun and Spectacle: Beyond the competitive aspect, this event is also about enjoyment and community spirit. Spectators gather to cheer on the participants, creating a lively and supportive atmosphere.
  5. After Party: Following the race, the winners will be announced. There will be beer and food available as well as the opportunity to rehash the day’s events.

The Marquette Mountain Cheese Roll event combines athleticism with fun and camaraderie, making it a memorable occasion for participants of all ages and spectators. It celebrates not only speed and skill but also the joy of engaging in a quirky and exciting tradition.

Whether you’re participating in the race or cheering from the sidelines, the Cheese Roll event at Marquette Mountain promises to deliver an unforgettable experience filled with excitement and community spirit.
