Celebrate World Telemark Day with Us at Marquette Mountain Resort!

Telemark skiers, it’s time to mark your calendars—World Telemark Day is back! Every first Saturday in March, Telemark enthusiasts from around the globe come together to celebrate the sport, the community, and the unmistakable free-heel style. This year, we’re bringing the party to Marquette Mountain Resort on Saturday, March 1, 2025, and we’re doing it in true Midwest fashion.

Hosted by Midwest Telefest, this event is for seasoned free-heelers, first-time Telemark skiers, and everyone in between. Whether you’re here to race, take a lesson, or just enjoy the vibe, we have something for you.

Event Schedule

Event Kickoff – 9am

Start the day off right with a fresh layer of corduroy
and some warm-up laps!

Telemark Lessons

Beginner: 10-11:30am
Intermediate: 1-2:30pm

Fun Races

Uphill/Downhill Race – Noon
Ski up the mountain, then descend Rocket through the gates.

Smelly Tele Relay – 3:00 PM
Teams of four race through gates in a fast-paced, fun challenge!

Individual registration—just tell us your team name.

Live Music in the Tbar

Frank An Da Beanz | 3:00 – 6:00 PM

Marquette’s premier variety band, Frank an da Beanz, plays it all—no genre is off-limits. Known for wild costumes and high-energy shows, every gig feels like a Halloween party.

Think leisure suits, cowboy boots, and afros, or an El Camino painted like a bass boat—because why not? With the funkiest hits from the ’70s and ’80s, they turn every night into a dance-all-night experience.
